We are so happy that you are interested in joining our group! We are all really excited for the coming year, and we look forward to meeting the future of the Counter-community..

Like all a cappella groups on campus, Counterpoint’s auditions consist of an initial audition and a callback. The audition process is a chance for us to get to know you and it will take place during week 1 of fall quarter.

Audition Week (Fall Q. 2024)

Sept. 21

Come see all 10 of Stanford's a cappella groups perform on Meyer Green on Saturday & come with any questions you may have about auditions, a cappella, or anything else--we'd love to meet you!

Round 1
Sept. 23-24

Location: Old Union

We will ask you show us a few things such as singing scales, matching pitch, and performing rhythm exercises. Then you will wow us with a solo performance! We'd like to ask you to prepare a 1-2 minute selection from a song of your choice. So pick a song that you’re comfortable singing, shows off your voice, and reflects your style. Many auditionees choose to perform a verse and chorus.

Round 2
Sept. 25-27

After the first round, we will have callbacks! We will invite you to social events to get to know the group Wednesday - Thursday, followed by official callbacks on Friday.

On Saturday, you will find out if you will be joining Counterpoint this year. Good Luck! We are really excited!
